HOW TO GET THE BEST PRODUCT
FROM YOUR TRANSLATOR

A good translation combines accurate text with knowledge of the culture for which the text is targeted. Words and phrases often change meaning when they cross a border.  A good translation must reflect the expectations of the reader in the target language or country. To get an effective product, translation has to be a give-and-take process between you, your audience and your translator.

One of the most difficult problems in technical translations is the constant appearance of new terminology.  It is often useful to provide your translators with any document that will help them understand and translate new and technically complex terms. Whenever possible, have your translator contact one of your colleagues or correspondents abroad in order to supply a glossary and clarify any technical or linguistic issues.  By taking this step, you can be assured that meanings and nuances are properly interpreted. And you will get translations that are both technically correct and culturally appropriate. It goes without saying that translators must adhere to the strictest standards of confidentiality.

We at Word Pros have extensive experience in technical and scientific translation of research reports and technical manuals, as well as documentation in business and manufacturing.  Our extensive experience abroad have made us sensitive to cultural diversity and made us aware that good translation must take into consideration more than just correct language; the finished document has to conform to the local culture and usage.
